As you all knew, Google Nexus One seems to make the mobile marketplace hotter and hotter at the time of year-end and the atmostphere does not seems to be down at the beginning of 2010 when Apple explained that Google would like to kill iPhone with Nexus One. That is enough for those who have not been using Nexus One but iPhone. I am myself very curious about this product and now searching to have better understanding of Nexus One.
I planned to get Nexus One instead of iPhone in June to experience and to replace my old Nokia which is not fashionable now. That does not mean I am a big fan of Google but it seems Nexus One is now stealing clients of the iPhone. It is my personal opinion and I have just read the Nexus One blog and got an update that you might be interested. It is multitouch feature!
Starting today, Nexus One users will begin to receive an over-the-air software update on their phones. This update provides some great new features, and fixes a few problems that some users might have experienced, including:
Google Goggles: this mobile application will now be available directly on your device by launching it from your All Apps menu. Just use your Nexus One camera to start searching the web
Google Maps: the Maps application with be updated to a new version, Google Maps 3.4, which will include:
- Starred items synchronized with maps.google.com – access your favorite places from your phone or computer
- Search suggestions from your personal maps.google.com history – makes it easy to search for places you’ve searched for before
- Night mode in Google Maps Navigation – automatically changes your screen at night for easier viewing and driving
In order to access the update, you will receive a message on your phone’s notification bar. Just download the update, wait for it to install, and you should be all set. This update will be rolled out gradually to phones – and most users might not receive the notification until the end of the week. We hope you enjoy these new features and look forward to your feedback.
It seems that there are a lot of features & fixes integrated in Nexus One for this update and the most interesting feature that have been long awaited might be “multi-touch” or called by Google “Pinch-to-zoom functionality”.
I am now eager to get Nexus One to experience this feature but I have to wait until June to do this. You will ask me why I have to wait until then and why I do not make it right now? That is a secret and that is an agreement between me and my wife and I want to commit to what I have already promised with her.
Thanks guys for reading my post and I am happy if you can share your experiences about the Google Nexus One!
